.. _multidecadal_simulations: Multi-decadal Simulations ========================= The second generation of global multi-decadal simulations produced with the Climate DT provide a consistent dataset covering the period 1990-2049, at resolutions of approximately 5 km for the atmosphere and land surface and between 5 and 10 km for the ocean and sea-ice, and with hourly temporal resolution. They include historical, projection, and control experiments with all three km-scale coupled climate models. **Historical (1990–2014)** Forced using standardised CMIP6 historical forcing, the historical simulations reproduce recent past climate conditions. They are essential for model evaluation and quality control, as they allow direct comparison to observations. **Projection (2015–2049)** Continuing directly from the historical run, the projection uses the Shared Socioeconomic Pathway (SSP) 3-7.0 scenario from ScenarioMIP. This scenario represents a future with continuously increasing CO2 emissions and no strong mitigation efforts. **Control (minimum 10 years from 1990)** Run with fixed 1990 forcing throughout, the control simulations provide a stable climate baseline used to quantify model drift and isolate externally forced signals. Available Simulations --------------------- The table below lists all available multi-decadal simulations.
