Getting Started =============== Prerequisites ------------- Access to HireNext requires a valid **DESP account**. If you do not yet have one, register at the `DESP Web Portal `_. Logging in ---------- 1. Open the HireNext web application. 2. Click **Sign in** in the top-right corner. 3. You will be redirected to the DESP Keycloak identity provider. 4. Enter your DESP credentials and confirm any multi-factor authentication prompt. 5. After successful authentication you are returned to the HireNext dashboard. Your session is maintained by a secure HTTP-only cookie. Tokens are automatically refreshed in the background; you will only be asked to log in again after an extended period of inactivity. Logging out ----------- Click the user icon in the top-right corner and select **Sign out**. This invalidates your session on both the HireNext backend and the DESP Keycloak server. User roles ---------- .. list-table:: :header-rows: 1 :widths: 25 75 * - Role / scope - Capabilities * - ``weather_user`` - Access forecast and DLR endpoints; manage own spans. * - ``forecast_cache`` - Everything in ``weather_user`` plus: view forecast cache status, trigger manual cache refresh, and view admin statistics. Roles are assigned by the service administrator via the DESP Keycloak console. First steps ----------- After logging in for the first time: 1. Navigate to the **Spans** page. 2. Upload a CSV file containing your high-voltage line coordinates (see :doc:`spans`). 3. Select a span and open the **Forecast** tab to view weather predictions (see :doc:`forecasts`). 4. Visit the **DLR Severity** page for a pan-European capacity overview (see :doc:`dlr-severity`).
