SEEDS application, which stands for Supporting European Farmers’ Decisions in Perennial Agriculture through DestinE Solutions, is an innovative climate pilot service developed within the broader Destination Earth (DestinE) initiative, with ECMWF support. The primary goal of this project is to assist European farmers in adapting to the complex challenges posed by climate change, with a specific focus on important perennial crops such as apples and grapes. To achieve this, SEEDS leverages the advanced capabilities of DestinE’s Climate Digital Twins (DTs), providing high-resolution and highly localized climate information, down to 50 meters by 50 meters. This detailed support is essential for the effective implementation of adaptation strategies and for a more informed and resilient management of climate risks in the agricultural sector. The service is also co-designed in direct collaboration with the end-users to ensure its maximum usability in real-world operational contexts.
