We are pleased to announce the upcoming EDEN service release 4.1.0, introducing new super-resolution datasets and enhanced cache management capabilities.
What’s new in this release?
- GOME-2 Super Resolution
A new collection provides super-resolution nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) data derived from observations by the GOME-2 instrument. The data has been enhanced using deep learning trained on Sentinel-5P TROPOMI observations and is delivered in Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFFs (COGs) format.
- Sentinel-2 L2A Super Resolution for Northern Italy
This new collection provides imagery for Northern Italy at a spatial resolution of 2.5 metres, enhanced from the standard 10-metre Sentinel-2 bands using a Residual Dense Network.
Delivered as Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFFs, the collection helps bridge the gap between freely available and commercial high-resolution imagery, supporting applications such as precision agriculture, urban planning and infrastructure monitoring.
- Enhanced cache management
The release introduces an automated retention policy to streamline the removal of obsolete products from cache.
Additionally, legacy dataset identifiers using the EO:MEEO:DAT:* format have also been definitively replaced by the new EO:EDEN:DAT:* naming convention.
Deployment details
The new release will be deployed on Monday 3 August 2026 between 10:00 and 12:00 CEST.
The EDEN service will experience a limited period of downtime while the components involved in the release are updated.
