A new release of DestinEStreamer, implemented by GeoVille, has been deployed. The service provides advanced compression and streaming technologies for climate and Earth observation data, enabling seamless access to large volumes of datasets through both an intuitive user interface and API-based workflows.
What’s new in this release:
- StatOnEdge for more datasets
StatOnEdge, the built-in tool for exploring and analysing EO and climate data streams directly in the browser, is now available for all climate datasets and Copernicus Sentinel-3 NDVI, enabling on-the-fly statistics and analysis directly at the data source. - More flexible areas of interest
Users can now draw custom polygons or select single points — in addition to predefined administrative regions — making analyses more precise and tailored to real-world study areas. - Higher spatial detail with pansharpening
NDVI streams now support pansharpening, revealing more spatial detail when zooming in and enabling better local interpretation. - Improved NDVI data export
Download only what you need: users can define an area of interest and export GeoTIFFs directly. - Enhanced performance
StatOnEdge performance has been significantly improved through a new tiling strategy: - spatial tiling based on geohashes (no geospatial DB lookups required)
- temporal tiling for climate streams (e.g., yearly segments for hourly data)
- smaller chunks → less data transfer → faster processing
