DT-HEAT+ is a digital twin designed to raise awareness and provide real-time intelligence on heat-related mortality—often overlooked despite being labelled by WHO as a “silent killer.”
By combining AI-driven models with data from DestinE’s Digital Twin Components (EXTREMES and Climate), DT-HEAT+ delivers short-term mortality risk estimates and visualizations for city and regional authorities, urban planners, policymakers, and emergency services.
Developed under a Letter of Intent between the National Observatory of Athens, ESA, ECMWF, and EUMETSAT, DT-HEAT+ strengthens DestinE’s goals by showcasing actionable digital twin solutions for climate resilience. Deployed in Athens and Prague as part of the EU-funded CARMINE project (https://carmine-project.eu/), the service is designed for scalability across cities.
