DT-HEAT+ is a Digital Twin application providing heat risk intelligence for cities by integrating AI, Earth observation and urban data. It delivers next-day forecasts of heat-related mortality risks and features visual tools such as real-time dashboard, horizon charts and 5-year temperature analyses.
Designed to assist city officials, urban planners and emergency responders, DT-HEAT+ supports climate adaptation planning and real-time heatwave management. Future developments will include scenario modelling, climate projection and Nature-based Solutions (NbS) impact analysis, making it a one-stop resource for urban heat resilience within the DestinE ecosystem.
Developed under a Letter of Intent between the National Observatory of Athens (NOA), ESA, ECMWF and EUMETSAT, and originally deployed as part of the EU-funded CARMINE project, DT-HEAT+ contributes to DestinE’s goals by delivering actionable digital twin solutions for climate resilience.
The service currently supports the metropolitan areas of Athens, Prague, London and Bucharest, and is designed to scale across additional cities.
