Please be informed that maintenance activities are planned to upgrade the Islet Cloud service at the Lumi bridge.

The upgrade is necessary to ensure continued platform stability, security and access to the latest OpenStack features and improvements.

Maintenance window

Start:    29 September 2026, 17:30 CEST
End:      30 September 2026, 06:00 CEST

Impact

During the maintenance window, services hosted at the Lumi Bridge will experience temporary unavailability. Access to cloud resources and related platform functionality will not be available until the upgrade is completed.

The following impacts are expected:

• All cloud resources at Lumi Bridge – including VMs, load balancers, routers and Kubernetes clusters – will be shut down
• Islet service at all other DEDL sites will remain unaffected
• HDA will remain operational, but requests routed to Lumi Bridge may return errors or time out
• Remote Compute Kernels provided by the Stack service on the Lumi Bridge will not be available
• Users will not be able to spawn Dask clusters at the Lumi Bridge
• Active orders processed by the Hook service may take longer than usual or may not complete successfully if they depend on resources at the Lumi Bridge
• Users will not be able to create Islet projects at the Lumi Bridge through MyServices

The main periods of service unavailability are expected from 18:00 to 22:00 CEST on 29 September and from 00:00 to 02:30 CEST on 30 September. However, some services may be temporarily interrupted or unavailable throughout the full maintenance window.
