Developed by HydroLogic, KNMI and Weather Impact, FloodMIND is a new pilot service that brings machine learning to flood nowcasting. It helps water authorities, disaster-risk managers and municipalities anticipate rainfall-driven flood impacts and make timely, informed decisions.

FloodMIND blends radar-based rainfall nowcasts with forecasts from the DestinE Extremes Digital Twin to predict rainfall over the coming hours. These rainfall forecasts then drive a machine-learning flood model that rapidly produces high-resolution maps of expected water depths within seconds rather than hours.

Through an interactive dashboard, users can see where and when flooding is likely, giving them more time to prepare, deploy resources and inform the public before an extreme event unfolds.
