Earth Pulse is one of the demonstrators featured in the Learning Hub. It is a mobile-friendly digital card game designed to showcase the capabilities of the DestinE Platform environment through play. By combining local climate, socio-economic, and satellite information, it demonstrates how complex datasets can be transformed into intuitive and engaging experiences for non-expert users.
What’s new in this release?
The new release introduces a range of new end-user features, including:
- New game mode: Beat Desty!, a classroom-oriented mode where up to 40 players compete simultaneously against Desty, a virtual opponent, by selecting the indicator most likely to outperform its hidden card.
- New game mode: GeoClimate Quiz Mode, a geography challenge inspired by location-guessing games, where players identify cities, regions, or forests from satellite imagery and climate indicators under different difficulty levels.
- New game mode: Super Strategic Mode, an enhanced version of Strategic Mode featuring bonus cards and special abilities that introduce new tactical choices, player interaction, and replayability.
- New Reward System: Players now earn coins by playing games and creating content, unlocking Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond badges as they progress.
- Achievement notifications and badge pop-ups to celebrate milestones and encourage continued engagement.
- Personal Dashboard displaying player statistics, earned badges, and progression.
- Leaderboard enrichment with badge information and player progression.
Deployment details
The new release will be deployed on Thursday 9 July at 14:00 CEST, with no downtime expected for users.
