COMEO new release live on 10 September

The new release introduces subscription tiers for compression quotas, a new landing page and improvements to performance and stability.

The COMEO (Compression Of Models & Earth Observations) service, developed by VisioTerra, aims to compress Earth observation data (Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2) and Earth modeling data (such as C3S ERA5) using lossy algorithms.

 

What’s new in this release?

COMEO version 1.2.0 introduces the following features and improvements:

General

  • Add a landing page introducing the COMEO service.

Compression service

  • A new quota system with four subscription tiers:
    • Free: 10 compressions per month and 2 concurrent compressions
    • Mini: 50 compressions per month and 2 concurrent compressions
    • Medium: 200 compressions per month and 4 concurrent compressions
    • Maxi: 800 compressions per month and 8 concurrent compressions
  • Quota tiers are assigned through the DestinE Platform Tenancy system, available upon request by interested users.
  • A shortcut on the Product ID label allows users to copy an example product ID.
  • Improved service performance and stability.

Temporal Synthesis Tool

  • Improved tool performance and stability.

 

 

Deployment details

The new release will be deployed on Thursday 10 September from 12:00 to 16:00 CEST. A service interruption of approximately 2 hours is expected during this deployment window.
