This tutorial provides comprehensive step-by-step guidance for navigating the Global Fish Tracking Service decision support interface on the DestinE platform. The tutorial begins with accessing the service through a web browser and introduces the initial view displaying available fish species and tagging campaigns, represented both as a species list and geographical layers on an interactive map. Users learn to select specific species for analysis and visualize quarterly fish distribution patterns intersected with DestinE Climate Digital Twin data for ocean temperature and salinity. The tutorial also demonstrates how to inspect individual fish tracks by selecting track identifiers, it shows the temperature and depth measurements of each fish tag, and animates fish movements through time on a map.
The Destination Earth Data Lake Harmonised Data Access (HDA) API provides seamless access to “DestinE Data” and “Federated Data” defined as per DestinE Data Portfolio. The API is based on the Spatio Temporal Asset Catalog specification (STAC) allowing users to discover datasets and services. Datasets contain data which can be accessed/ downloaded for further processing. This tutorial shows how to use Harmonised Data Access (HDA) – one of the services of DestinE Data Lake, implemented by EUMETSAT.
The HOOK Service provides capabilities to execute high level pre-defined functions (Function-as-a-Service) that users can invoke in vicinity of the data from the DestinE Data Portfolio. This tutorial shows how to use HOOK – one of the services of DestinE Data Lake, implemented by EUMETSAT.
