Introducing HiReNext: high-resolution DLR forecasting for Transmission System Operators

Now available for beta testing, the pilot service helps users assess how changing weather conditions may affect power line capacity across Europe.

We are pleased to announce that the beta version HiReNext is now available on the DestinE Platform. This new pilot service helps Transmission System Operators (TSOs) and grid engineers assess weather-related conditions affecting high-voltage overhead lines.

Implemented by Prophesea, HiReNext combines high-resolution weather forecasts from the DestinE Extremes Digital Twin with users’ span inventories to provide local forecasts and interactive Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) severity maps along power line corridors. These tools help users assess how changing temperature and wind conditions may affect line capacity across Europe.
