We are excited to announce that the first DestinE Climate Digital Twin Second Generation (GEN 2) data are now available on both the DEA and miniDEA services.
The new datasets are produced by the IFS-NEMO model provided by Earth Data Hub and cover an extended time horizon of 35 years, offering an unprecedented high-resolution view of past and projected climate conditions.
On DEA, users can now explore and integrate into their stories two new Second Generation variables from the DestinE Climate DT:
- 2 metre temperature – monthly high-resolution global data in Kelvin
- Time-mean total precipitation rate – monthly high-resolution global data in kg/m²/s
An interactive preview of these datasets is also available on miniDEA.
Both variables are available at monthly time intervals and tagged for easy discovery by theme (temperature, precipitation).
A DEA-powered animation of the monthly 2 metre temperature is also available on the DestinE Platform home page.
More DestinE GEN 2 data will be made available soon, together with an update on climate trends based on DestinE GEN 2 datasets.
