Who can use the DestinE Platform?
Any user, ranging from citizens, scientists and academics, commercial entities and policy makers can easily access the platform. Whether you are already utilising geospatial data in your operations, are involved in sectors aligned with the DestinE objectives, or have limited technical expertise, you are encouraged to register and leverage our platform’s complete range of services, to explore and harness the potential of the DestinE Platform.

I am having troubles with registering, what can I do?
Please contact our Support and we will assist you straight away.
How do I delete my account?
You can have your profile and associated personal information permanently deleted from the DestinE Platform by selecting the relevant option on your User Profile or by contacting our Support.
How do I reset my password?
Simply click the “Sign in” button, choose I forgot my password and follow the instructions.
How do I sign in after registering?
Registered users can log in via:
- Web Portal Sign-in: accessible from any page of the Web Portal, simply click the “Sign in” button located at the top-right in the navigation menu.
- Command Line Interface: users with expertise in utilising advanced functionalities, including scripting, can opt for the Command Line interface. This interface allows direct interaction with the Authentication Token issuing endpoint provided by the Identity and Access Management service.
How do I register?
You can easily register by clicking the Sign in button on the top-right in the navigation menu from any page of the web portal and choosing Register.
Registration to the DestinE Platform is always free and you can opt out at any time.
What are the benefits of registering?
By registering your free DestinE Platform account, you gain access to a series of Platform functionalities, that include:
- Full access to selected Services in the catalogue
- Onboarding form, if you wish to become a DestinE Platform Service Provider
- DestinE Platform support for specialised enquiries
- Possibility to request upgraded access to all available Services

How do I become a Service Provider?
Visit the Onboarding web page on Web Portal to discover the benefits, details and steps involved in activating the Onboarding process.
Register an account on our platform if you haven’t already done so. This step is essential to gain access to the Onboarding form and initiate the process by sending us your request.
Who can do the Onboarding on DestinE Platform?
Any external service provider offering applications and algorithms who wishes to integrate their service in the DestinE Platform Framework to make it available to a wider and targeted audience.
What is the Onboarding on DestinE Platform?
Onboarding is the process through which Services Providers integrate their services onto the platform, to make them available to all users in the Services catalogue.

What are the Edge Services and how do I access them?
The Edge Services available from the DestinE Platform Services section include Stack, Hook, Islet Compute and Islet Storage. These services are provided by EUMETSAT and are governed by an eligibility verification and approval process for access.
In order to request access to any of the Edge Services, please follow the Request access to Edge Services instructions:
- After registering your DestinE Platform account, please contact the DestinE Platform Team from the Support web page to request your Edge Services access and initiate the process.
- You will then be contacted directly by the Edge Services support with the request to provide additional information.
- If your user profile and project align with the categories currently eligible, you will receive an approval notification via email by the Edge Services support. You can then follow the Access Edge Services procedure for the Sign In.
Who are the providers of the services I find in the Services catalogue?
Service Providers on the DestinE Platform include:
- Core Services: key components operated by the DestinE Platform consortium, essential for the platform’s functionality. They include Platform Management services facilitating the creation of the platform ecosystem community and Data Management services, allowing users to access data and applications.
- Onboarded Services: external services offering applications and algorithms that are integrated in the DestinE Platform Framework further to the Onboarding process
- Federated Services: external services who make their service accessible to the DestinE Platform user community.
Please note that each Service Provider is the owner of their respective service and is responsible for the service management and performance.
Where can I find technical documentation on the Services?
Do I have to be registered to access the Services on DestinE Platform?
Yes, you have to register your free account to gain access to all our services and resources.

How can I access DestinE Digital Twins data?
You can find detailed information about the services that provide access to DestinE Digital Twins data on the platform by visiting the DestinE Data Portfolio page.
How can I integrate my datasets into HDA (Harmonised Data Access) EUMETSAT service?
The DestinE Data Lake (DEDL) enables you to share your datasets, making them accessible to any user via DEDL HDA API and the DestinE Data Portfolio.
In order to request integration of your data, please follow the Promote user data to become DestinE data instructions:
- After registering your DestinE Platform account, please contact the DestinE Platform Team from the Support web page to request data integration and initiate the process. Be sure to provide all relevant details.
- You will then be contacted directly by the DEDL support team with the request to complete a questionnaire, along with information about the next steps of the process.
- Your request will be assessed, and the DEDL support team will notify you about the outcome.
How can I search for specific datasets?
You can discover data by using the following services:
- Data Cache Management Service – this service provides access to DestinE Digital Twin, C3S ERA5, Copernicus Sentinel, CMEMS and Sentinel-2 Mosaic data in zarr format, designed for scalable access.
- Polytope – this service offers data in its native format, ensuring integrity and precision.
- EDEN – this service provides a seamless way to discover and access data sourced from multiple origins.
- Harmonized Data Access (HDA) – this service harmonises the data accessibility, offering smooth access to datasets gathered from various sources.
- Earth Data Hub – a gateway to access pre-processed, analysis-ready DestinE Digital Twin and other data optimised for cloud computing in zarr format.
Where can I access the data collections?
They are available from the DestinE Platform Services catalogue. Go to the Services catalogue and filter the services by selecting “Data Access” in the Category list available on the left column.
Which data are available on the DestinE Platform?
The DestinE Platform portfolio includes datasets from DestinE Data Lake, including simulations generated by the DestinE Digital Twins, as well as datasets from other federated data sources (e.g. the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem).

Where can I access the Data Visualisation services?
Go to the Services catalogue and filter the services by selecting “Data Visualisation” in the Category list available on the left column.
What is Data Visualisation?
Data Visualisation allows users to visualise geospatial data and information on a dynamic map, and provides geospatial datasets like static maps, layers or interactive time series. 3D-rendering, interactive and animation capabilities are also available, to create highly immersive and engaging experiences.

Do you comply with GDPR?
All data related to DestinE Platform and managed by Serco under Serco’s “Data Protection Framework” compliant with GDPR.
Is DestinE Platform a secure platform?
All platform security activities are based on the global Thales Alenia Space Cybersecurity scheme, derived from the ISO27001.
In addition, the OVHcloud infrastructure provides several solutions to recognise malicious activities on the system and block them. Security by design principles is also adopted for the platform to properly mitigate the risks associated with such a large system.
Access Policy
How long does it take to process my Upgraded Access request?
Once you submit your request, it will be evaluated for alignment with the Destination Earth User Access Policy. This process may take several business days, so please do not submit another request in the meantime.
During the review of your request, you may be contacted by the evaluators to provide further clarifications. Once the process is complete, you will be informed by email of the approval or rejection of your Upgraded Access request.
How do I apply for Upgraded Access?
- After registering your DestinE Platform account, Sign In and select the Access Policy Upgrade link available under your profile.
- The available options for applying for Upgraded Access depend on your User Category, which is based on your User Profile. Make sure you fill in the User profile field in your Account Settings.
- Fill in the Access Policy Upgrade Request form as requested, accept the Terms & Conditions for DestinE Priority Users and submit your request.
What is the User Access policy?
The Destination Earth System’s User Access Policy governs access to the DestinE Platform services.
All users belonging to the General Public user category are able – further to registration – to access selected services and operational features of the current system.
Specific categories of users, that include public authorities, academia and research and SMEs and start-ups, may Apply for upgraded access to utilise the available Destination Earth’s advanced features and services to test, help improve and develop the system.
