Data Portfolio¶
The WISE fire spread model outputs from Climate DT experiments are provided as gridded NetCDF files containing fire behaviour metrics. The outputs include burn grid, maximum fire intensity, and maximum flame length.
File Structure and Naming Convention¶
The WISE output files are organized by year, month, and test site/scenario folder.
Directory naming convention:
EO.FMI.DAT.DESTINE_CLIMATE_WILDFIRE_WISE_<start>_<end>__<site_or_scenario>
Examples of site/scenario suffixes include kalajoki, koli, lieksa, portugal_site_1_normal_fuel, portugal_site_1_fuelbreaks, portugal_site_2_normal_fuel, portugal_site_2_fuelbreaks, portugal_site_3_normal_fuel, and portugal_site_3_fuelbreaks.
Daily file naming convention:
YYYY_MM_DD_T00_00_burn_grid.ncYYYY_MM_DD_T00_00_max_intensity.ncYYYY_MM_DD_T00_00_max_flame_length.nc

Scenarios¶
For each test site, fire spread simulations are conducted for:
Baseline scenario - Fire spread simulated with current vegetation and fuel conditions
What-if scenario (Portugal only) - Fire spread simulated with planned clear cuts implemented as fuel breaks
