Examples¶
This page describes practical examples using HydroMet data and points to example notebooks for retrieving data from the Destination Earth Service Platform when it is accessible.
Typical applications¶
HydroMet can support decision-making in fields such as:
Urban and infrastructure planning in the realm of climate adaptation
Assessment of changing insurance risk
Visualising local changes in extreme precipitation strength
Helping water management agencies in assessing changes in flood risk
Data access¶
HydroMet output is published on the DestinE Data Lake under the collection
identifier EO.DWD.STAT.HYDROMET_EXTREMES. Different model experiments appear as
separate items, so users can identify the experiment, period, and realization
they need and open the corresponding files directly.
Data Lake access and STAC metadata conventions are documented in the DestinE Data Lake documentation.
Notebook examples¶
The following example notebook demonstrates data retrieval and simple plotting of HydroMet data. Additional examples will follow.
